AS350 Bike Rack now FAA approved

Our Airborne Systems AS350/355 Bike Rack is 100% certified and ready for use in the United States of America.

The design of our AS350 Bike Rack began in 2013 due to seeing a need in both the private and commercial realm of aviation. This concept had been followed in New Zealand previously but ours was the first Supplement Type Certified (STC) product designed from the ground up with safety and operational ease the highest priorities.

We have created a strong aluminium alloy bike rack that attaches to skid tubes, each holding 3 bikes giving an operator to ability carry up to 6 bikes per transit. These racks don't require fixed provisions, allowing the pilot to easily install and remove without the need for tooling.

Our bike racks are available for AS350B, BA, B1, B2, B3 and D AS355 E, F, F1, F2 N, NP models.

After gaining our NZCAA STC for our Bike Rack in 2014 we looked to achieve additional certification qualifying our bike racks, and our other role equipment, to be used overseas. Thanks to a bilateral agreement signed at the end of 2015 between the United States and New Zealand this became easier to achieve. Through our bilateral agreement our NZCAA STCs can now be converted, permitting our role equipment to be certified for use to the USA.

In fact next week our Airborne Systems Manager, Russell Goulden, will be installing our bike rack on an AS350 B3e for a tourism operation in Northern California.
